A Photo a Week Challenge: Natural Monuments

Ninety Mile Beach and the Hole in the Rock

monument

Ninety Mile Beach (actually about 55 miles) on the far north west of New Zealand’s North Island is to my mind as iconic as the Hole in the Rock which lies off it.

I was never happy with the photos I took with my old Sony point and shoot.  I now recognise that part of that was that the white balance settings were way off (I didn’t really even know what white balance was at the time).  Fortunately some of them can be partly rectified in lightroom.

Posted as a contribution to Nancy’s photo a weekly photo challenge theme of natural momuments

  1. What a beautiful photo, Sonya. Hole in the Rock looks like it is actually rising out of the ocean!
