Weekly Photo Challenge: Life imitates art

In the late 1970s or early 1980s my parents bought 3 bronze sculptures by Ken Kendall that made up a group of 3 children.   It was an interesting work because no matter how you positioned the  3 individual pieces they seemed to interact with each other.  The oldest was a girl, then a boy in the middle and a younger girl.  As that was the birth order of me and my siblings, we pretty quickly each identified with one of the figures.

A few years ago we each got for Christmas a smaller figurine of the sculpture which in our childhood imagination was “us”.

A great tradition at Wellington’s Basin Reserve is that during the lunch break of test matches, spectators are permitted onto the field to play.  Today, this group of travelling Australian fans had some fun along with some local lads.
