I don’t really like photos of myself and I particularly dislike “selfies”, partly because as you can see I can’t quite manage a smile when taking them.  However, some situations leave a solo traveller with no option – and just cry out for a photo.

I love this red door in Woodward Street near to my office – but even more I’m hoping that the great Asian restaurant that used to be there returns when earthquake strengthening is completed in the building.  Sadly I suspect not – its been more than a year since it closed
