A Photo a Week Challenge: Perfect Sky

Well I wouldn’t necessarily claim that this is a perfect sky.  But on a walk through the Ohariu Valley this afternoon I enjoyed taking up Nancy’s challenge to get a shot where both the sky and the other elements were exposed properly.

I usually shoot in aperture priority and often have problems with blowing out the highlights in the clouds.

With this scene I found that an EV of -1 got results I was fairly pleased with.

  1. Very well captured , love this sky!

  2. I usually increase the shutter speed to about 1/1000 or more if my aperture is at f/2.8 or wider to control the light. I haven’t tried decreasing my EV… I gotta try it sometime. 🙂

  3. Great capture and nice explanation of how you got it. Thanks for joining the challenge!
