Well I wouldn’t necessarily claim that this is a perfect sky. But on a walk through the Ohariu Valley this afternoon I enjoyed taking up Nancy’s challenge to get a shot where both the sky and the other elements were exposed properly.
I usually shoot in aperture priority and often have problems with blowing out the highlights in the clouds.
With this scene I found that an EV of -1 got results I was fairly pleased with.

I usually increase the shutter speed to about 1/1000 or more if my aperture is at f/2.8 or wider to control the light. I haven’t tried decreasing my EV… I gotta try it sometime. 🙂
