Both Frizz and Ed have challenges on the theme of the letter B this week.
This public art near the Wellington Railway Station is a representation of Buzzy Bee – an iconic New Zealand toy. Buzzy Bee was designed and first produced in New Zealand in the 1930s and is now one of the most well-recognised items of Kiwiana.
Most famously the baby Prince William was filmed playing with a Buzzy Bee when he came to New Zealand with his parents in 1983. A Buzzy Bee caricature was used on the keel of NZL84, one of New Zealand’s yachts in the America’s Cup in 2007.
The building in the background is “The Beehive” in which most New Zealand cabinet ministers have their offices.
